EEE and Canvas

OIT’s EEE Team provides the campus with web-based tools to facilitate instruction and other activities associated with coursework (for example, online quizzes, assignment submission, grading, online discussion boards, and more). EEE services include homegrown applications unique to UCI (such as EEE+ EaterEvals and EEE+ Scout) as well as the Canvas learning management system (canvas.eee.uci.edu).

Current projects include:

UCI Canvas: UCI is currently in the process of moving from a homegrown learning management system to Canvas. UCI Canvas is the primary course management system for the campus. For more information, see http://sites.uci.edu/canvas.

EEE+ GrandCentral: EEE+ GrandCentral is a new and evolving hub for EEE+ tools and services. As of Fall 2018, GrandCentral includes simple course lists for instructors and students, as well as a course calendar download option, and course management options instructors can use to create and configure their UCI Canvas course spaces.

EEE+ EaterEvals: EEE+ EaterEvals allows students and other campus affiliates to review the quantitative (non-textual) evaluation results for participating Senate faculty each quarter, after the Registrar’s final grades submission deadline. For more information, see https://eaterevals.eee.uci.edu/

EEE+ ScoreShare: EEE+ ScoreShare provides a platform for securely viewing students’ interim assignment scores during the quarter as an aid for academic advising and academic counseling needs at UCI. Students opt-in to release their scores to authorized advisors in participating units, and can revoke access at any time.

EEE+ Scout: EEE+ Scout is a versatile system for academic forms and applications that can be used to collect information and files from participants. For example, Scout can be used for scholarship applications, student interest profiles/applications (such as for research opportunities, academic programs, etc.), student organization leadership applications, student job applications, and more.
